Whoa - what a month!

Let's just hope this doesn't really turn out to be a future hair choice

This month was full of great celebrations! We celebrated daddy's 32nd birthday with his mom coming up and making us all gain about 10 pounds with the menudo she made and then with Andy's favorite upside pineapple cake her and Elena made together. Marcus fully took off crawling not much longer after the last blog entry and pulling himself up in a standing position. My little man really thinks he can just turn around and start walking by himself! Analissa had a piece of her art work from school put on display here at the district's arts center which celebrated Art History month. There was only about a handful of students from each grade level that had their art displayed and we are tremendously proud of Analissa and her passion for art and creativity. She absolutely loves her art teacher - shout out to Mrs. Smith!- and loves everyday creating and doodling with something. We unfortunately didn't get to make the reception event, but we still have some time to check it out. The only bummer is, is that they aren't open on the weekends and close at 5 on weekdays. As soon as we can do that, we'll get some pics of her replica of the Alamo - which was the chosen piece.
I had to deal with getting ready for our wonderful state mandated test this month - the TAKS! It seemed 2 weeks leading up to this test, I literally had a headache each night because of the stress on my students and how hard we've been working. I know they each did a great job, but it kills me to know that we most likely won't get results until late May. The day before the test, Marcus got sick at his sitter's. Then he broke out in pink eye, then followed by a fever, and still then got a runny nose and cough. Andy has been with him all week taking him to 2 doctor visits just for them to only diagnose pink eye and checked him for the flu since his fever got to 103, but thankfully it turned out negative. I stayed home with him today and I can begin to clean really good and disinfect a few things around the house. The sad part is that Marcus just has to recover slowly since there's not much that can be done - boy do I hate that! This is when you feel the most helpless as a mom when your babies are suffering and there's nothing more that can be done. It's a total waiting game.
Now we just have one week left of school until Spring Break - woo hoo! My mom should be coming into town next weekend and hopefully Marcus will get better and we get to do some fun stuff!
