Memorial Weekend!

What a great and long weekend we had! It felt great being off of work for the extra day - it really does make a difference! So we pretty much hung around, got chores done, ran some errands and topped the weekend off with going to the park, doing a little shopping and enjoying a late lunch. Hope you like the pics at the park - it was HOT, but the kids had a blast
As I'm writing this we only have 3 more days left of school, in which we are all anxious about. We've got a busy summer ahead of us that we've started planning for. I can't wait! Enjoy the beginning of a great summer!

Analissa's end of year concert

Analissa looking a little frazzled

Analissa's art project that got chosen to be displayed at our school districts art center.
Last Tuesday we all attended Analissa's end of the year music concert. She played her recorder (which she practiced every day) and sang a few songs. We are so proud of her accomplishments this year as a fourth grader and for working so hard - even though it wasn't always easy. Her great news she recently found out is that she passed all three TAKS test of writing, reading, and math, yet got commended scores for writing and reading! It's not an easy test and we are so happy of her dedication to her work. And finally I was able to get a snapshot of her art project of the Alamo. Her artist side really shines through!

Marcus' Baptism

Being blessed
Look how tiny he is!
My family and the godparents - The Penas

No it's not a rash - but kisses from the grandmas as they said good-bye
What a beautiful day we had as Marcus was baptised on May 17th. He was baptized by my aunt and uncle, who also baptized Elena. We are very grateful to the both of them to step up to the plate and take on this great responsibility. We couldn't be luckier to have such a wonderful family to join us on this great occasion. Grandma Sylvia and Grandpa Mingo joined us a few days earlier, as they also attended Elena's field day at school. This is where they have a day of outdoor fun at school, then had a "cookout" of hamburgers for lunch. Then my mom and grandma came also to help celebrate. We couldn't have been happier with the wonderful family and friends that came to see Marcus get blessed into the Catholic church. God bless you all!

Marcus' 1st haircut

Well I just couldn't take the "shag" look any longer. And even though he was only 9 months, I needed help trying how to maintain that mane of his. I didn't want him to look older since he's still under a year old, but I certainly didn't know if he was going to be able to handle a haircut at his age. Also, his baptism was coming up and I wanted to him to look even more handsome than he already is! :) We got to Snip-its, put him in his chair, told the lady what I wanted ( I really needed her advice to keep him looking like my baby boy)gave Marcus some cookies, and had absolutely no problems! We were so amazed at how well he did! As you can see, it all worked out! My sweet little man is turning into a big boy with each passing day. Pretty soon we'll be celebrating his 1 year birthday and I'm not sure I'll be able to handle it!

Mother's Day

This Mother's Day was just as special as all my past years, but it got better since I was able to be grateful for Marcus spending his first Mother's Day with us. We ALL got up around 7ish and shortly thereafter, I opened my gifts. My charm bracelet is now complete. It's a very special charm bracelet as each charm signifies motherhood and my children. The day was spent relaxing and then enjoying a great lunch of delicious fajitas and sausage.
I am so blessed to have this wonderful life of a loving husband and a fantastic father to our wonderful girls and our little man. And who knows...maybe there may be more in the future. O.k., so I'm just being too sentimental. :)
